The CR-N cameras and the CR-X300 stream NDI HX2, SRT, RTMP/RTMPS and RTSP/RTP, and take Canon XC control. Canon specifies NDI HX2, not full-bandwidth NDI or SMPTE ST 2110. FreeD tracking data for virtual studios is listed on every model except the CR-N100 and the CR-X500. Canon states that the CR-X500 does not support IP or any of those protocols: it is driven over RS-422 and works with the RC-IP100 and RC-IP1000.

- Paid option
- Canon's Auto Tracking Application runs inside the camera and adds subject selection, sensitivity levels and stored settings. It is a separate purchase.

- Canon has scheduled firmware for October 2026: internal SD card recording up to 4K60 on the CR-N700 and CR-N400, and face registration tracking on the CR-N700, CR-N400 and CR-N350 as a separate one-time purchase.

Canon's controllers speak XC protocol to its PTZ cameras, the XF605 and several Cinema EOS models, so a PTZ and a handheld camera can share one desk.
IP and serial control
RC-IP100
A 7-inch touchscreen and joystick, 100 presets per camera and a tally output. It runs a multi-camera setup over IP, with one more camera on the serial port.

The compact controller: a 3.5-inch touchscreen, joystick, Touch AF, waveform and vectorscope, powered over PoE.

RC-IP1000
A 7-inch touchscreen with Touch AF and live views, and 12G-SDI in and out for 4K60 preview. Stream Deck support expands in the October 2026 firmware.
Three free applications sit behind the hardware. Remote Camera Control runs up to 20 cameras from a Windows or Mac computer. Multi-Camera Management monitors up to 200 cameras and pushes firmware to them together. Camera Color Matching matches the CR-N700, CR-N400 and CR-N350 to each other and to cameras from other makers. Canon lists compatibility with switchers and control systems including TriCaster, vMix, Crestron, Q-SYS and Extron, and notes that some need added software or firmware, so we confirm each integration against your system.

Beyond PTZ.
- XF605
- A 1-inch 4K60 camcorder with 15x zoom, 12G-SDI and HDMI, SRT streaming and two XLR inputs. RC-IP controllers can run it next to your PTZ cameras.
- Cinema EOS
- The EOS C400 pairs a 6K full-frame sensor with 12G-SDI, genlock, timecode and a return video input for multi-camera work. Canon lists the C400, C80, C70 and C50 among the cameras its XC protocol controls.
- Studio and field lenses
- UHD-DIGISUPER box lenses in 2/3-inch 4K, for studio and stadium pedestals. A box lens is bought with its zoom and focus demands and its support, so tell us the pedestal and head as well as the camera.
- ENG and EFP lenses
- Portable 2/3-inch 4K zooms in the CJ series, from the wide CJ15ex4.3B to the long CJ45ex13.6B, for shoulder and tripod cameras.
- Remote-controlled lenses
- KJ and KH series lenses built for robotic and POV positions, where the lens is driven from the control room instead of by hand.
- Cinema lenses
- CINE-SERVO zooms with broadcast-style servo control, COMPACT-SERVO zooms for EOS C-series bodies, and Flex Zoom and prime lenses for single-camera work.
