Integration & installation

Broadcast and AV systems, designed, supplied and installed.

Varto designs, specifies, installs and commissions systems that combine cameras, switching, audio, graphics, prompting, storage and the network beneath them. We supply the equipment we install, so the company that specifies the system is the company that builds and commissions it.

What Varto does

From the first drawing to the people who run it.

Scope, design and equipment choices

We start from the room, the date it has to be ready, who will run it and what already lives in it, and specify the equipment before anything is ordered. The choices we work through with you:

SwitchingTriCaster, Blackmagic ATEM or Ross, chosen for who operates it, how many sources and outputs the program needs, and whether graphics, replay and streaming run inside the switcher or alongside it.Studios and control rooms
CamerasRobotic PTZ cameras let one operator cover several positions from the control room. Operated studio or fiber camera chains give framing control and longer lenses where the production needs them. A room can mix both, with PTZ on fixed and wide positions.PTZ camerasStudio and fiber cameras
AudioA digital console and wireless microphones sized to the room, with Dante where audio shares the network.Audio
Communication and promptingIntercom and prompting sized to the positions that need them, such as Clear-Com through a production truck or CueScript on studio cameras.Clear-ComCueScript
Storage and recordingShared storage such as SNS EVO where several people and systems work from the same media; standalone recorders where a room only needs to capture.

Existing equipmentIf the system must reuse existing equipment, we explain what it can support and where it may limit the design.

Racked and tested before it ships

Where the scope allows, systems are assembled, cabled and run at our East Rutherford facility first, so the install date is not the first time those pieces have to agree with each other.

Installed, commissioned and labeled

We install and cable the system on site, then commission it against the way the room is actually used. Cameras are numbered, tie lines are terminated and labeled by position, and what went in is written down. Years later that is what makes a fault findable and an upgrade possible.

Your IT staff and the building tradesWe coordinate network policy and addressing with your IT staff. Unless your project says otherwise, conduit, power and millwork remain with the building trades.

Trained and handed over

We train the people who will run the system, on the system as built, and hand over the documentation of what went in.

Varto’s role ranged from full design and commissioning to upgrading an existing production truck.

A Panasonic camera chain, TriCaster 2 Elite switching, CueScript prompting, a Telos phone system on supported VoIP lines, SNS EVO shared storage, and the Blackmagic and NETGEAR infrastructure beneath it.

Varto designed, integrated and commissioned the camera systems and both control rooms, and trained the staff who ran them.

After the install

Support after handover.

What happens after handover is your choice. Call the desk when something needs attention, book prepaid engineering hours for training and changes, or talk to us about a Varto OnAir support plan for the system.

When the system changes later, we can supply compatible additions, and replacement parts where they are still available. Eligible Vizrt hardware can be repaired on our East Rutherford bench, a Vizrt Authorized Repair Center.

Your room

Describe the room and the date, and we will tell you what the system needs and what it does not.
