// Professional audio & intercom

Clean audio and clear comms,
end to end.

Mixing, routing, DSP, and intercom and IFB on Dante and the standards you already run. The half of live production that only gets noticed when it's wrong, engineered so it isn't.

Varto Technologies is a broadcast systems integrator in East Rutherford, NJ: one team that designs, builds, commissions, and supports production audio and intercom systems across the NY/NJ metro and nationwide.

CH 01THE MIX
// Where the show is mixed

The mix.

The desk, the processing behind it, and the meters that prove the mix meets spec.

01Mixing & consoles

Desks sized and configured for the show, so the person mixing it succeeds on their first Sunday or first season.

02DSP

Processing that fixes the room and protects the mix, set once and trusted.

03Loudness & monitoring

Levels that meet spec and metering that proves it.

CH 02THE NETWORK
// Where audio rides

The network.

Audio stopped being point-to-point years ago; the network underneath decides whether that's a feature or a failure.

04Audio routing

Every source to every destination, without re-patching under pressure.

05Dante audio-over-IP

Audio on the network: hundreds of channels on one cable, routed in software, with clocking and redundancy designed instead of assumed.

06Embed & de-embed

Audio married to and split from video wherever the chain requires it.

CH 03THE COMMS
// Where the crew talks

The comms & the mics.

The half of audio the audience never hears, and the crew can't work without.

07Intercom systems

The crew talking clearly, party lines and point-to-point, wired, wireless, and across buildings.

08IFB

Talent hearing exactly what they need, and nothing they don't.

09Wireless mics

Frequency-coordinated wireless that survives a full house and a crowded spectrum.

CH 04THE PROOF
// On air

On air, at two scales.

The control room of an international electronics maker's studio, a Varto build

The same discipline at two very different scales.

A township's five-building Dante audio network and an international electronics maker's studio on Allen & Heath consoles and Shure wireless: different rooms, one standard: every voice heard.

// Straight answers

What audio owners ask.

Q·01Can volunteers run a console like this?

Yes, with the right console and the right setup. Scenes, safe layers, and sensible labeling turn a professional desk into a Sunday-morning-proof one. Training the rotation is part of the job.

Q·02Can our existing console join a Dante network?

Very often, via a card or gateway. We audit what you own before proposing anything; keeping good gear in service is usually the right call.

Q·03Can intercom reach across buildings or sites?

Yes. Comms ride the network now, so a campus, a venue, and a control room across town can share one intercom system. That's a network design task, and we do both halves.

Q·04Are our wireless mics still legal?

If they're more than a few years old, maybe not. Federal spectrum auctions moved the goalposts, and systems on the old bands can't legally operate. We'll audit what you own, tell you what still works, and coordinate frequencies so a full house doesn't take your mics down mid-show.

Q·05What does an audio rebuild cost?

The console is the visible line, but routing, networking, wireless, and comms usually decide the number. So does how much of your existing plant survives; gear that still earns its rack space stays in service. We audit first and quote what the room needs, not the whole catalog.

Q·06Can you fix the room, or just the gear?

Processing fixes a lot: intelligibility, feedback, uneven coverage. It can't repeal physics. When the honest answer is treatment or speaker placement rather than more equipment, we'll say so, because a well-tuned modest system beats an expensive one fighting its room.
