Kiloview converters and encoders for NDI and IP video.

Kiloview hardware moves video between SDI or HDMI and the network, decodes streams back to displays, records NDI sources and bonds cellular links in the field. Each model supports its own mix of formats and protocols. Varto Technologies in East Rutherford, NJ quotes Kiloview on its own, or designs it into the network and production system.

// choose by direction

Start with which way the video has to go.

A Kiloview unit is chosen by direction first, then by connector, resolution and the protocol at the other end.

  • Both ways

    SDI or HDMI ⇄ NDI

    N60 · N50 · N40 Plus · N3-s

    One box encodes or decodes, so a converter can feed a camera to the network or a network source to a monitor.

// ndi converters

Converters that encode and decode.

Every converter here works in both directions. The NDI modes and protocols differ by model.

The N60 and N50 also record to card, USB or NAS, carry tally, control PTZ cameras over serial or the network, and handle 1080i in and out for facilities still running interlaced. Both have two gigabit ports that can be bonded, with PoE on the first. Kiloview labels them NDI 6.3 compatible.

The N6 and N5 turn a plain USB webcam into an NDI source, which is often the cheapest way to get a fixed camera onto the network. In decode mode the N40 Plus switches between stored NDI sources without a black frame. None of these converters is listed with SMPTE ST 2110.

Inputs
3G-SDI to 1080p60, HDMI to 4K30, both with loop-out, plus USB
Codecs
H.265, H.264, M-JPEG
Protocols
NDI HX3 and HX2, SRT, RTMP/RTMPS, WHIP, HLS, TS over UDP, RTSP. Not full-bandwidth NDI.
At once
Up to eight streams to different destinations, with a backup destination behind each one
Also
Encodes SDI and HDMI together or as picture in picture, records MP4, MOV or TS to USB or NAS, runs on PoE

Two boxes for the joins: one that re-sends a stream in a protocol the other end can read, and one that hands an IP source to a computer as an ordinary USB camera.

MG300v2 media gateway

Converts
NDI High Bandwidth and HX2 or HX3, SRT, RTMP/RTMPS, RTSP, TS over UDP and HLS, in either direction
At once
Up to nine incoming streams, each re-sent in as many as four protocols
Also decodes
To 3G-SDI and 4K HDMI, in layouts from two 4K60 windows to sixteen at 720p

U4 IP video dock

The U4 decodes NDI High Bandwidth, HX2 and HX3, SRT, RTSP, RTMP, TS over UDP, RTP and HLS, and presents the picture to a computer as a standard UVC camera and UAC audio device. Teams, Zoom and Meet see it without a driver or a capture card.

The same source goes out of HDMI and DisplayPort at up to 4K60 at the same time, so the room display and the local monitor follow the call. It runs on USB-C power.

CUBE R1 NDI recorder

Records up to four NDI High Bandwidth channels at 4K60, or nine channels at 1080p60, to MOV or MP4. It keeps the native SpeedHQ files or records H.264 and H.265, and plays back one channel while it records.

Files go to two hot-swappable Kiloview Storage Sticks or to NAS, where editors can open them while recording continues. Channel counts drop when playback, transcoding or NAS recording run at the same time.

// in from the field

Bonded encoders for remote contribution.

P3
Bonds up to six links: four removable 5G or 4G modules, Wi-Fi and Ethernet. SDI, HDMI to 4K30 and USB inputs. NDI HX2 today; Kiloview says HX3 will follow in a firmware update.
P3 Mini
Bonds up to five links: three 4G modules, Wi-Fi and Ethernet. SDI, HDMI and USB to 1080p60, with a 3-inch touchscreen and a battery good for about four hours of streaming.

// buying through varto

Why buy Kiloview through Varto?

We specify Kiloview conversion in the broadcast and IP systems we design, and we build the networks that NDI and streaming depend on.

SELECT
The unit that fits both ends.We match direction, connector, resolution, NDI mode, protocol and power to the source, the destination and your switcher.
QUOTE
Equipment on its own is welcome.Ask for a converter, a decoder or a recorder. No project is required.
INTEGRATE
Built into a network that carries it.We plan switching, addressing, bandwidth and NDI discovery with your IT staff, then configure and commission each unit on the current firmware. Integration
