Matrox Video streaming and IP video.
Matrox Video encoders, decoders, gateways and KVM extenders stream and record meetings, bring remote cameras back to the control room, bridge NDI to SRT and IPMX, put SDI and HDMI on ST 2110, and reach rack computers from the desk. We match the Matrox unit to the job, install it and train your team.

Maevex encoders
Stream and record the meeting from one box.
Maevex encoders take the HDMI program feed, stream it to your platform and record it at the same time.
- Streaming: RTMP to web platforms, plus SRT, RTSP, HLS and MPEG-2 TS.
- Recording: the Maevex 6122 and 6152 record MP4 or MOV files to a USB drive or a network share, on a schedule if you set one. The Maevex 7112A and 7112H record to a network share.
- Pass-through: every HDMI input has a zero-latency HDMI output, so the feed still reaches the room display.
- Layouts: the 6122 and 6152 combine sources as picture-in-picture, side by side or quadrants.
- For IT: 802.1X network authentication, HTTPS and Microsoft Active Directory integration.
For council and board meetings, lecture capture and worship services.

Maevex models
| Encoder | HDMI inputs | Codec | Records to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maevex 7112A | One, up to 4K60 | H.264 | Network share |
| Maevex 7112H | One, up to 4K60 | H.264 and H.265 | Network share |
| Maevex 6122 | Two, up to 4K60 | H.264 | USB drive or network share |
| Maevex 6152 | Four, up to 4K | H.264 | USB drive or network share |
Maevex encoders take HDMI only; the Monarch EDGE takes SDI. The Maevex 6152 Decoder plays up to four 4K streams, or sixteen at 1080p30, on displays in other rooms.
Monarch EDGE
Bring remote cameras home over the internet.
Monarch EDGE encoders and decoders carry SDI video, audio and tally between a remote venue and your control room, over SRT on the public internet.
- Latency: as low as 100 ms glass to glass, not counting the network, by Matrox's figure.
- Protocols: SRT with caller, listener, rendezvous and bonding modes, plus RTP, RTSP and MPEG-2 TS. Encoders also send RTMP to web platforms.
- On the E4: eight tally signals, a genlock output, 16 channels of embedded audio per input and two balanced analog audio inputs on an optional cable.
- Data that travels with the video: CEA-608 and 708 captions, SCTE-104 and 35 markers, and timecode.
For PEG stations covering events away from the studio, sports venues and live event producers.

Monarch EDGE models
| Model | SDI | Channels |
|---|---|---|
| Monarch EDGE E4 | One 12G-SDI and three 3G-SDI, up to 2160p60 | Four, set as four encoders, three encoders and a decoder, or two of each; 10-bit 4:2:2 |
| Monarch EDGE E4 8-bit | Four, up to UHD | Encode only, 8-bit, for web streaming and cloud production |
| Monarch EDGE D4 | Four, up to UHD | Decode, 10-bit, at the control room end |
| Monarch EDGE S1 | Two | One encoder and one decoder: a camera out and a return feed back |
Two Monarch EDGE units fit in one rack unit with the rack kit.
Vion gateways
Send NDI over the internet, or into an IPMX system.
Vion is a compact IP video gateway that converts between NDI, SRT and IPMX.
- Conversions: NDI to SRT for contribution over the internet, NDI to IPMX, and IPMX to RTSP, in either direction.
- NDI 6 at full bandwidth and NDI HX3: one 4Kp60 or four 1080p60 NDI channels per unit.
- Vion EX adds two 12G-SDI and two HDMI inputs, two of them at a time, for a camera or a program feed, and two HDMI outputs for preview. Vion NX works on IP streams only.
- Also: H.264, H.265 and JPEG XS, and NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 registration.
For facilities on NDI that need to send a feed off-site, or to join an IPMX system.

ConvertIP and ConductIP
Put SDI and HDMI devices on ST 2110 and IPMX.
ConvertIP converts SDI, HDMI and HDBaseT to and from SMPTE ST 2110 and IPMX. ConductIP finds the devices and routes the signals.
- Two families: 1G models send compressed video with Matrox's ProAV codec. 25G models also send uncompressed video, and the DSS and DSH add ST 2022-7 redundancy. JPEG XS is an option on both.
- Every model: up to 4Kp60, NMOS IS-04 and IS-05, and PoE+ power from the switch, with an optional power supply for redundancy.
- ConductIP discovers, monitors and routes any NMOS-enabled ST 2110 or IPMX device or signal.
For control rooms and campuses moving to ST 2110 or IPMX.

Extio 3, Avio 2 and KMLync
Computers in the rack, controls at the desk.
IP KVM extenders carry the screens, keyboard and mouse of a racked computer to an operator position over the network.

IP KVM on Gigabit EthernetExtio 3
The Extio N3408 carries 4K60 or a quad-monitor desk over standard Gigabit Ethernet, point to point or across a network, with multiview. The Extio N3208 serves two displays.

IP KVM on ST 2110 and IPMXAvio 2
The Avio N2150 carries HDMI up to 5K on IPMX and ST 2110 networks at 1 or 10 GbE, so the operator desk joins the same IP system as the video.
KMLync lets one keyboard and mouse control up to four computers.
For master control, playout and graphics positions where the computers live in the rack.
We start from what your switcher puts out.
The right Matrox unit depends on what feeds it and where the video has to go. We look at the sources, the network and the destinations, then design the system, install it, test it on a real event and train the staff who run it.
- Signal: HDMI or SDI, how many sources, and the resolution.
- Network: upload speed at each site, firewall rules for SRT, and multicast for ST 2110 or IPMX.
- Destinations: each web platform, the recording location and any displays in other rooms.
- Training: operators learn to start a stream, check a recording and recover a dropped connection.
What to send for a Matrox quote
- The job: streaming and recording, remote cameras, NDI or IPMX, ST 2110, or KVM.
- Your sources: the switcher or camera outputs, HDMI or SDI, and the resolution.
- Where the video goes: each streaming platform by name, where recordings are kept, and any remote site.
- Your network: internet upload speed at each site, and whether IT has a VLAN or multicast plan.
- What you already own: any Matrox units in service, by model.
- Purchasing: whether the bid needs TAA-compliant models.
Your equipment list is enough to start.
Buying questions
Can one box stream the meeting and record it at the same time?
Yes. Every Maevex encoder streams and records at once: the 6122 and 6152 save to a USB drive or network storage, the 7112A and 7112H to network storage.
Our switcher has SDI outputs. Which Matrox encoder takes SDI?
The Monarch EDGE family takes SDI directly. Maevex encoders take HDMI only, so an SDI program feed needs a converter in front of a Maevex.
Can it stream to YouTube, Facebook or our streaming host?
Yes. The Maevex encoders and the Monarch EDGE encoders send RTMP, and the Maevex 7112A and 7112H also send RTMPS. Your platform's ingest settings decide which protocol we use.
Are Matrox products TAA compliant?
Matrox offers TAA-compliant versions of many models, including Maevex, Vion, Extio 3 and Avio 2 units. Ask us for the documentation your bid needs before you rely on it.
