PTZ cameras

Panasonic's US PTZ line runs in four series: Platinum, Premium, Pro and Outdoor. The differences that matter are sensor size, the outputs you can wire, and how the camera behaves in low light and on long lenses. Buy a single camera or a whole fleet. If the controller, mounts, cabling or network need working out, we configure those with the quote.

Controllers and software

The controller decides how the room runs. A hardware panel gives an operator presets and a joystick; the software layer adds tracking, framing and matching across the fleet.

  • Remote camera controller with a touch screen, two joysticks and color-coded buttons

    AW-RP200GJ

Panasonic's 2025 remote camera controller: dual joysticks so one hand can crop while the other frames, macro recording that replays a sequence of camera moves on one button, a built-in LCD, and control of up to 200 cameras. It accepts 3G-SDI, NDI High Bandwidth and SRT for monitoring.

  • Remote camera controller with a touch panel and a single joystick

    AW-RP150GJ

The touch-panel controller in our rental kit and in PTZ rooms we have installed: a zoom and focus rocker on the joystick, preset and tracing memory, settings copied across cameras, and PoE+ so it powers from the switch. The compact AW-RP60GJ covers smaller rooms and mobile kits.

Media Production Suite, licensed per function.

Panasonic's Media Production Suite runs on a PC or tablet. Device Manager and PTZ Control are free; the plug-ins are licensed: Auto Tracking, Advanced Auto Framing, Visual Preset for one-click multi-camera angles, Video Mixer, and Image Adjust Pro, a software remote operation panel that shades up to 20 cameras at once across the UE160, UE150A, UCX100, UC4000, UC3300 and UBX100. Trial periods are available before you commit to a license.

KAIROS live production

KAIROS is Panasonic's IT/IP live production platform. Instead of a fixed count of mix effects, it composes layers on a GPU, mixes 4K and HD sources on one canvas, including non-standard aspect ratios, and takes its inputs over SMPTE ST 2110, NDI High Bandwidth, SDI and HDMI boards, and SRT.

KAIROS is worth considering when a production needs more mix effects and layers than a fixed switcher frame offers, when sources already arrive over IP as SMPTE ST 2110 or NDI, when an LED wall or venue display is not 16:9, or when 4K and HD sources have to mix on one canvas.

  • Black 4RU rack-mount mainframe with a perforated front panel

    Kairos Core 2000AT-KC2000S2 and KC2000X1

The 4 RU flagship: up to 64 ST 2110 inputs at 1080p and a canvas up to 12K, which is what lets one core drive an LED wall and a broadcast feed at once. Dual-core and network redundancy are available for rooms that cannot go dark.

  • Kairos Core 200AT-KC200L1 and KC200X1

The same platform for a smaller plant. The KC200L1 ships with SDI as standard, 24 inputs and 12 outputs in FHD, expandable to 32 and 16, so a room that is still on SDI can start here and add IP later.

AT-KC10C1 (two faders, 24 crosspoints, joystick) and AT-KC10C2 (two faders, 12 crosspoints) ship today. Kairos Creator on Windows or macOS configures the system, and a single panel can drive two cores.

  • Wide control panel with three fader bars and dense button rows, preliminary image

AT-KP340 and KP330Announced for 2027, not yet shipping

Three-fader panels with 40 and 30 crosspoints for large productions, announced for the second and third quarters of 2027. Specifications are preliminary and can change.

We have run KAIROS on our own bench with Panasonic PTZs feeding it. Name the sources you have and we will tell you whether a GPU switcher fits your crew. Capacities depend on configuration; ask for the configuration behind any number.

Studio cameras

A talk format, a news set or a flagship chamber with a shader on staff (the operator who matches exposure and color across cameras) needs a camera chain: the head, a camera control unit or an IP link, and a remote operation panel. Varto has built a Panasonic chain of this kind for a national daily show.

AK-UCX100

Panasonic's current 4K studio camera: 2,000 TV lines, HLG and SDR at once, an HD low-pass filter for LED walls, dual 12G-SDI, and IP operation without a CCU over NDI High Bandwidth, ST 2110 with JPEG XS, or SRT. With the AK-UCU700 camera control unit and the AK-HRP1010 or HRP1015 remote operation panels it runs as a conventional shaded chain. Panasonic lists autofocus as a firmware addition from December 2025.

Buying questions

Can a Panasonic PTZ cut next to our studio cameras?

Yes, with work. The UE160 and UE150A have the sensor size and sensitivity to sit beside a studio chain, and Image Adjust Pro or a hardware remote operation panel lets a shader match them. We can set that up and show you the cut before the room goes live.

Should we wait for the global-shutter UE200?

Only if your production needs what it fixes: banding under LED walls and rolling-shutter skew on fast pans. Panasonic schedules the UE200 series for February 2027 and the roll-capable UER200 for later that year; schedules can move. If you need cameras this season, the UE160 and UE150A are shipping now.

Which controller do we need?

For one operator running a fleet, the RP150 is the standard and the RP200 adds macros and a second joystick. For defined shots with nobody at a desk, the Auto Tracking and Advanced Auto Framing plug-ins can hold the framing; someone still sets the presets and watches the output. Whichever you choose, the camera outputs, tally and control get specified for the switcher the room runs, whether that is TriCaster, KAIROS or Ross.

Can we rent before we buy?

Yes. Varto's rental fleet includes a Panasonic AW-UE100 three-camera kit with an RP150 controller.

A model number or a floor plan. Either one starts a quote.

Know the part number? We will quote it. Want the controller, mounts and cabling worked out with it? Say so, and the quote covers the room. Know the room and not the product? Describe it, and we will come back with a system.
