Ultrix: a router that also does the processing.
Ross Video calls Ultrix hyperconverged: routing, frame synchronization, audio, multiviewers and even a production switcher live in the same frame, added by software license instead of separate boxes. Frames range from 1RU to 30RU; depending on the I/O and licenses installed, Ultrix works with 12G-SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, SRT, JPEG XS, MADI and Dante.

I/O
Mix SDI, IP and fiber in one frame.
Ultrix I/O boards cover 12G-SDI, SMPTE ST 2110 IP and modular SFP connections, and a frame can carry a mix of them. That lets an SDI plant add IP sources without replacing the router.
Software licenses
Add features without adding boxes.
UltriSync adds frame synchronizers, UltriScape adds multiviewers, UltriMix adds audio processing, UltriClean adds clean and quiet switching, and UltriStream sends multiviewer outputs over NDI.
Ultrix is controlled from Ultricore, Ultritouch panels or DashBoard.

Ross Video runs the current Carbonite range on one software platform, and TouchDrive panels control most current Ross Video switchers. The choice comes down to sources, formats and how much of the control room the switcher should hold.

Switcher inside the router
Ultrix Carbonite.
The Carbonite engine runs on blades inside an Ultrix FR2, FR5 or FR12 frame and shares that frame’s I/O, frame synchronizers and multiviewers. Each blade adds 22 inputs and outputs and up to two full M/Es.
For the largest shows Ross Video also offers Carbonite HyperMax and Ultrix Acuity.
TouchDrive panels.
Panels run from the compact TD1C through TD1, TD2, TD2S, TD3S, TD3, TDx3, TD4 and TDx4 to the new TDx5L. We size the panel to the number of M/Es and to the operator who will run it.

Ross Video ended production of Carbonite Black, Black Plus, Black Plus 12G and Carbonite Mosaic on April 1, 2023, with product support for seven years after that date; ask us before upgrading one of those frames.

XPression graphics, from one channel to a newsroom.
XPression is Ross Video’s real-time 3D graphics system. Templates are built once in XPression Designer; the edition decides the channels, inputs and outputs. Depending on the edition, output runs over SDI, 12G-SDI, SMPTE ST 2110 or NDI.

Design once, play out anywhere.
The same scene can run on a studio engine, a clip server or a mobile edition. Carbonite switchers work with XPression over RossTalk, and the Datalinq add-on connects graphics to live data.
