PTZ for classrooms, chambers and sanctuaries.
First decide whether the camera should frame people on its own. The SRG-A40, SRG-A12 and SRG-AS10 have Sony PTZ Auto Framing; the SRG-XS10 is the SRG-AS10 without it, for positions an operator drives or recalls from presets.

SRG-A40 and SRG-A12
Auto framing for one presenter or a group of up to eight, with 4K30 over HDMI, HD over 3G-SDI and PoE++ power. The A40 has the longer lens for deep rooms and the A12 a 12x lens for smaller ones. NDI|HX is an optional license on both.

SRG-AS10 and SRG-XS10
A 10x lens, 4K60 over HDMI and NDI HX2, which comes pre-installed, HD over 3G-SDI, and RTMP or SRT streaming from the camera itself. The AS10 adds auto framing; the XS10 leaves it out.

Robotic cameras that cut with the rest of the show.
When a PTZ has to match operated cameras, look at the sensor and the outputs. The BRC-AM7 and the ILME-FR7 both output 12G-SDI and take genlock and timecode, and one RM-IP500 can drive several of them.

A Cinema Line full-frame sensor with interchangeable E-mount lenses, for a shallow-focus look from a robotic position. The lens you choose sets the shot and much of the cost.

Runs up to 100 compatible BRC, SRG and FR7 cameras over IP, or seven over RS-422, with up to 100 presets. Some cameras need a firmware update for every feature.

An XDCAM camcorder is the simplest operated position: built-in zoom lens, XLR audio, SDI and streaming in one body. A Cinema Line camera is for interchangeable lenses and a more cinematic picture.

Compact E-mount bodies for gimbal and second-camera work, full-frame (FX3A) or Super 35 (FX30). HDMI out only, so an SDI production adds a converter.
