// Remote & cloud (REMI)

Produce live
from anywhere.

The control room stays at base, or lives in the cloud, while the event happens wherever it happens. Fewer people on the road, the same show on air.

Varto Technologies is a broadcast systems integrator in East Rutherford, NJ: one team that designs, builds, commissions, and supports remote and cloud production systems across the NY/NJ metro and nationwide.

TX 01THE ROOM
// Where the show is run

The room that stays home.

Switching, graphics, replay, and audio stay at base, or in the cloud, run by the crew that no longer has to travel.

01At-home & REMI production

Cameras at the venue, control room at base, one production between them, and a travel budget that finally makes sense.

02Cloud production

Switching, graphics, and replay running in the cloud instead of a rack, when hardware and monthly costs prefer it that way.

03Decentralized control rooms

Operators in different buildings, or different states, working one show.

04Remote camera control

Shading, framing, and PTZ control from wherever the operator sits.

TX 02THE PATH
// Where the signal travels

The path home.

Every remote build lives or dies on transmission, so the path gets designed with the same redundancy thinking as the room.

05Bonded cellular transmission

Broadcast-reliable feeds from venues that have never heard of broadcast infrastructure.

06Remote contribution

Guests, reporters, and remote cameras brought into the show cleanly.

07Backhaul

The paths that carry the show home, designed with backups because live doesn't wait.

TX 03THE PROOF
// On air

On air, from a venue with nothing.

A live event from a venue with no infrastructure.

A recent flypack engagement carried a live production on TriCaster and LiveU bonded transmission with a two-person crew, because the design did the work the missing infrastructure couldn't.

// Straight answers

What remote producers ask.

Q·01How much crew still travels?

Typically a camera op or two and a utility. Switching, graphics, replay, and audio can stay home. The travel line on your budget is usually where REMI pays for itself first.

Q·02What if the venue internet is bad?

We plan for it: bonded cellular aggregates multiple carriers, and the transmission path gets designed with the same redundancy thinking as everything else. Venue Wi-Fi is never the plan.

Q·03Cloud or hardware control room?

Depends on how often you produce and how your costs prefer to land, monthly or capital. Many builds are hybrid. We'll model it against your actual event calendar.

Q·04How much delay does remote production add, and will viewers notice?

Enough that the design has to respect it, not enough that the audience ever sees it. Camera cuts, comms, and return video each have their own timing budget, and getting them right is the design work. When it's engineered properly, the show looks local.

Q·05Can we try REMI on one event before committing to a build?

Yes, and you should. Transmission and production gear can be fielded for a single event, with our team or yours, so the model proves itself on your actual show before any capital decision. Many remote builds start exactly that way.

Q·06What does the venue side actually need?

Less than you'd think: cameras, audio, power, and the transmission kit that gets signals home. No truck, no control room, no operators behind glass. The venue package fits in cases, and setup is typically hours, not days.
